WoW - World of Warcraft Movie

Several sites around the world is buzzing about the World of Warcraft movie that finally seems to be happening.

Business Wire hosts the news release, it's also in Blizzard Entertainment's own press release section, and Allakhazam also shows the same info.

Now we just need for Blizzard and Legendary Pictures to give us some real meat.

We want movie trailers and leaked pre-production clips :-)

And discounts for existing WoW players when they go see this movie.

And see it released on DVD, in special extended directors cut collectors item edition :-)

And real female night elves showing up at opening night :-)

UK Elite is now Succession

We changed our guild name from "UK Elite" to "Succession".

Basically UK Elite wasn't a pure UK guild anymore, and we felt that a name change was needed.

A bunch of names had been suggested, and after postponing the decision for some time we ended up with the name "Succession".

From Wikipedia: "Succession is the act or process of following in order or sequence" - quite appropriate.

Banned from WoW for using a programmable keyboard

Banned from WoW for using a programmable keyboard
: "We are sending you this email to inform you that we have, unfortunately, had to suspend your World of Warcraft account pending investigation for the use of third-party software"

Beware the next time your flying from Ironforge to Stormwind - if you grab a cup of coffee, catch up on your email or take the dog for a walk you might be violating the Blizzard WoW ToU because of "unattended gameplay"

This guy sent lenghty detailed emails to Blizzard and what he got back was just canned one-liners - not once did Blizzard comment on anything specific.

So was he banned for playing WoW under LINUX/WINE?

Was he banned for playing with a programmable keyboard that he used for weaponswitching?

So what was he banned for?

Well, it seems that he was banned for watching movies on the monitor right next to the monitor running WoW while he was leveling his lvl 60 Priest weapons skills by hitting on a lvl 25 mob.

Good thing Blizzard didn't notice me one time I dozed off in my chair late at night in the Stockades - At interval I would wake up, heal myself, finish off the mobs, move into the next room and fall asleep again.

1GB extra Kingston ValueRAM works wonders

I just put in an additional 1GB RAM (Kingston ValueRAM) and it just works wonders.

Now, with every graphics setting turned waaaay up, I can still ride through Ironforge without ending up in the trench between the bank and the auction house ;-)

And outdoor scenary look way cooler now :-)

At first I thought I had blown something because I started getting these "crazy triangles" that essentially made the screen look like somebody has been running wild with a box of crayons.

Quitting WoW wasn't enough. Windows also started acting up, so I had to reboot my computer every 5 minutes to get rid of the errors :-(

Installing new ATI drivers (Catalyst Control Center 6.3 for Windows XP) didn't work.

Uninstalling drivers with the native uninstaller, and then removing the leftovers with 3rd party software (DriverCleaner) before installing new drivers again didn't help either.

But relocating my RAM blocks helped. I moved the Kingston RAM from the blue sockets to the other two banks, and moved the original Samsung RAM into the blue sockets.

It essentially disabled my Dual Channel RAM, but my system became rock steady after that :-)

Laurence Graff, a London jeweler, paid a record $425,000 a carat for a ruby in the Swiss resort of St. Moritz yesterday, smashing the previous record of $275,000 and indicating demand for precious stones is still increasing.

Forget about that 1 or 2 pieces of gold for a Start Ruby at the IF AH - auction the thing off at Christie's instead :-)

Not exactly WoW - but pretty close

Ok, I admit it - this video has nothing to do with World Of Warcraft - and yet...

These two "characters" are not playing World Of Warcraft - but they could just as easily be WoW players.

If you're offended by this video, then you are clearly playing too much WoW - and seeing too few RL girls ;-)

Burning Crusade Preview: Karazhan

World of Warcraft Europe
: "The Burning Crusade Preview: Karazhan
Daliniya & Xiliris, 31/01/2006
Development on the first ever World of Warcraft expansion "The Burning Crusade" continues at a feverish pace, and the dev team has released its first information on one of the new dungeons for the expansion. You can now see exclusive screen shots of Karazhan - the tower of the fabled guardian Medivh - as well as background lore providing the first shadowed hints into the terrible dangers and mysteries that await adventurers. "

Riding - or especially running - from Duskwood through Deadwind Pass to Swamp of Sorrows to the east or Blasted Lands to the south has never been a pleasant experience, but with Karazhan there now it's even more scary.

Ok, it's a lvl 70 instance, so I'm not going there any time soon, but think of all the low lvls in Duskwood who will most likely see more ganking visits from high lvls :-(

The pictures of Karazhan look really 'nice', but not a place you want to hang out for extended periods of time.
